Passport Fairs planned at several post offices

Passport Fairs are being planned by Illinois and Missouri post offices on Saturday, May 12.

Visitors will be able to apply for a U.S. passport by bringing:

• Proof of American citizenship – a certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state (hospital issued certificate is not acceptable), a previous US passport, certificate of citizenship or naturalization certificate.
• Proof of Identity – a previous US passport, a certificate of citizenship, a naturalization certificate or a current driver’s license with photo ID, government photo ID or military photo ID. Bring a photocopy of the front and back of each ID document that you will present when you apply.
• Passport Photos – can be taken on site for $15 (where available).
• Cash or Check or Debit card only – if payment is by check, two are needed.

A passport application can be downloaded and completed beforehand at www.usps.com/passport.

The U.S. passport book may be used for any type of international travel. The U.S. passport card may only be used for re-entry into the U.S. at land borders and sea ports of entry when traveling from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. Passport cards may not be used for air travel.

Fees for a passport book are $35 for an execution fee and $110 for a passport fee for those 16 and older; and $35 and $80 for those under age 16.
