Lindenwood University-Belleville

p12 Lindenwood    Looking back on the academic year, I am happy to say that Lindenwood University-Belleville is thriving. At a time when p12 Bargerresidents and many students are leaving the state of Illinois, Lindenwood Belleville is bringing students and their families from across the globe to the metro-east. We currently serve approximately 2,300 students from 56 countries and 39 states. This year, we’ve also seen how our growing footprint in southern Illinois has encouraged students to stay in their home state to study, learn, and grow. More than ever, we are working with outlying and rural Illinois communities whose students are attracted to our tight-knit and supportive campus environment.

Our students are prepared and ready for the world of work. At Lindenwood, we place a very strong emphasis on preparing students for the “real world” by affording them opportunities for experiential learning. Simply put, our students learn by doing. They are prepared for the real world because they are part of it. Before our students leave our campus, they meet professionals within their industries, visit potential employers, and produce professional work within their content areas. They enjoy real experience, which in turn brings them real success in their professional lives.

Our students are exceling. This year, our men’s swimming team brought home the Mid-South Conference Championship title for the third year in a row; one of our female wrestlers, Niauni Hill, finished a perfect 34-0 season, bringing home a Women’s College Wrestling Association Championship title; students have volunteered their time leading community cleanup projects and establishing new community service clubs on campus like Roterac; undergraduate student research and creative works have been selected to be published in national outlets, and these are just a few of the success stories from our students.

So, I encourage you to learn more about Lindenwood University-Belleville. Whether you have academic interests, want to enjoy a cultural event, or want to get involved in your community, remember, you don’t have to look too far, because Lindenwood Belleville is right in your back yard.
