Litchfield’s Schutt Sports gets MLB base contract
LITCHFIELD — Kranos Corp., dba Schutt Sports, has gained a multi-year extension to its agreement as the Official Base Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The three-year extension means Schutt will continue to supply all bases, home plates and pitching rubbers for every MLB game. The company manufactures the trademark Jack Corbett Hollywood bases, a version of which has been on the field for every MLB game, including World Series and All-Star Games, since 1939.
“For nearly 80 years, Major League Baseball has recognized the superior quality of the Jack Corbett Hollywood bases and we’re excited to continue working with the league and every Club,” said Kip Meyer, general manager, Schutt Sports, based in Litchfield. “Our ability to create custom bases for each club, as well as noteworthy games and events has strengthened our relationship with MLB even more. We’re looking forward to continuing that custom program and supporting the national pastime as we keep innovating together.”
