BJC Medical Group to provide hospitalist services at Memorial Hospital sites
BELLEVILLE — BJC Medical Group will provide hospitalist services to Memorial Hospital Belleville and Memorial Hospital East beginning April 1.

Turner, Memorial Regional Health Services president. “BJC Medical Group has a strong reputation for providing personalized care as well as keeping the patient’s primary care physician informed about their course of care.”
Five other BJC HealthCare hospitals utilize BJC Medical Group for their hospitalist services including: Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Alton Memorial Hospital, Christian Hospital, Parkland Health Center and Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital. Dr. David Yu, MBA, FACP, SFHM serves as executive medical director of the BJC Medical Group hospitalist program. He joined BJC Medical Group last year from Presbyterian Medical Group in Albuquerque, N.M., the largest single-site hospitalist program in the country.

Hospitalists are physicians who manage your care on behalf of your primary care physician while you are in the hospital. A hospitalist is a specialist who only sees patients in the hospital. Hospitalists are available for inpatient care 24/7 to discuss treatment; monitor progress, and order medications, tests or procedures. Hospitalists may bring in other specialty physicians as deemed necessary.
