HSHS St. Joseph’s Foundation brings vintage circus to annual gala
HIGHLAND – The HSHS St. Joseph’s Foundation will host its annual fundraising gala supporting HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland on Saturday, April 7, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Highland. This year’s event is bringing the circus to town with a juggler, unicyclist, fortune teller, carnival games and more.
A circus themed gourmet menu featuring appetizers, a combination entrée and dessert buffet will be provided by Silver Spoon Catering. Prizes will be awarded for the best top hat and/or bow tie and suspender combination worn by guests. The prestigious “Volunteer of the Year” award will also be presented.
“Our gala has been the cornerstone of the Foundation’s annual fundraising program for 13 years now,” said Amy Liefer, foundation director. “This event raises money that makes it possible for us to purchase much needed equipment and cover program costs that allow St. Joseph’s Hospital to provide the best possible health care for our community.”

The annual spring gala has raised nearly $800,000 for HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland since its inception in 2006. Examples of notable items that have been funded by the St. Joseph’s Foundation over the years include:

• Helicopter pad preparations
• Cardiac rehab monitors
• Laptops and iPads for improved patient care in surgery
• Lab and anesthesia equipment
• A gym power tower for rehabilitation patients
• Continued operation/maintenance of the Friend’s Van (complimentary shuttle service for patient appointments)
