Memorial’s Family Care Birthing Center receives perinatal quality award
The Family Care Birthing Center at Memorial Belleville was recognized as one of the top 105 birthing hospitals participating in the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative for their help in a statewide project on maternal hypertension.
Memorial Belleville was also one of three hospitals in Southwestern Illinois to receive the Gold Award which means it met all requirements 80-100 percent of the time.
Memorial Belleville submitted baseline data for the fourth quarter in 2015 and the entire years of 2016 and 2017. Data has shown improvement on immediate treatment and patient education.
This program is a multidisciplinary project involving Pharmacy, Emergency Department, Obstetrics, Informational Technology, and providers. The team meets once a month for education and improvements.
The team consists of Donna Stephens, director FCBC; Courtney Beebe, FCBC nurse manager; Mona LeGrand, FCBC charge nurse and chairperson of the Hypertension project and member of the ILPQC advisory workgroup; Rachel Hawthorne, staff nurse; Renee Junker, nurse educator; Angela Mann, nurse educator; Sarah Tucker, ED charge nurse; Jessica Hill, IT; Dr. Adriena Beatty and Dr. Sekou Kelsey.
