Touchette Regional Hospital offering substance abuse service

CENTREVILLE — Touchette Regional Hospital is offering a medical stabilization service for individuals facing addiction challenges with drugs, alcohol and other health-related difficulties.

touchetterregionsquarelogoThe trademarked New Vision service accepts patients who are experiencing incapacitation due to substance use or those who are experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms.

“When beginning stabilization with New Vision, the patient participates in a medically supervised hospital stay at TRH,” says Dr. Louis Gary, medical director for the program at the hospital. “This time is essential for inpatient treatment and substance management. The stay typically lasts three days and is overseen by qualified hospital personnel, which include a medical director and nursing staff.”

The stabilization service works toward the goal of people becoming substance-free and securing a healthy lifestyle.
