Opening of Illinois Army National Guard office is recognized
The RiverBend Growth Association this month played host to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new member, Illinois Army National Guard. Community members gathered to celebrate the grand opening of its Alton office and the National Guard’s 381st birthday as it is the oldest component of all the branches of armed services. The Illinois Army National Guard is composed of nearly 10,000 men and women that serve as Citizen-Soldiers who are committed to serving Illinois communities, the governor and, if called, the president of the United States in times of national defense. The Alton recruiting office, located at 94A Northport Drive, will help the Army National Guard improve the talent acquisition to ensure it is able to perform its mission of security and safety for the state.
