USPS seeking rural postal carriers in market

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The United States Postal Service – Gateway District is now hiring for rural carrier associate posts that pay $17.40 an hour.

uspslogoRural carrier associates provide rural mail delivery, customer service, and additional duties as assigned. Training is provided.

Applications are due between Dec. 6 and Dec. 13.

Duties and requirements for this position include:

 Sorting, delivering, collecting mail on foot and/or by vehicle under a variety of weather conditions
 Maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive customer service experience
 May be required to provide own vehicle with automatic transmission to deliver the mail
 Working variable hours up to six days a week
 Must be 18 years of age and not enrolled in high school
 Must pass criminal background check
 Must pass drug screening
 Must have valid driver’s license (two years continuous)
 Must have a good driving record
 Must be U.S. citizen or have permanent resident alien status
 The positions are considered non-career but can be a career path to full-time rural carrier positions.
