CEO program seeking mentors for students in Belleville

The CEO class now serving high school students in Belleville is in need of business mentors.

ceo logoUnder the CEO program, short for “Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities,” students are groomed to be future business leaders. Each student is paired with a business mentor, who is a business person in the community. Mentors and their students meet about six to eight times during the year to discuss the students’ business, to work on their business plans and financials and to make sure they are prepared to meet class deadlines.

The mentors help students immerse themselves in real-life learning experiences.

The CEO Program brings Belleville-area high school students interested in the business world to a special class that meets each day for an hour and a half before school. The program for the 2017-2018 is currently underway. Students meet for an hour and a half every day before their regular class schedules begin, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. The students assemble at different businesses that have invested in the program.

Anyone interested in being a mentor should email Geri Boyer at gboyer@kaskaskiaeng.com.
