Bridge work to limit Illinois 143 for a few months

WOOD RIVER — The Illinois Department of Transportation says a leg of Illinois Route 143 will be restricted starting Monday, July 17, for a bridge project that will take a few months.

roadworkaheadlogoIDOT said Route 143, 0.3 miles east of Illinois Route 3, will be restricted to one lane in each direction, weather permitting. This work is required in order to perform repairs on the existing bridge and is expected to be completed by the end of October this year.

The department advises the travelling public to follow all construction signs and drive with caution through the work zones.

The contractor on the project is The Kilian Corp. of Mascoutah.
