Leading Lawyers ranks Greensfelder attorneys among state’s best

    A new list of the top lawyers in Illinois includes 11 attorneys from the Belleville office of Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C.
    Leading Lawyers are selected in a peer-review process, and fewer than 5 percent of attorneys in Illinois receive the Leading Lawyer designation. The following Greensfelder attorneys are ranked as Leading Metro East Area Lawyers for 2017:
    Thomas F. Hennessy III is ranked for his work in areas including commercial litigation and employment law. He handles complex defense litigation and has worked with large corporations as lead counsel in an array of disputes.
    Dayna L. Johnson is noted for her experience in litigation, employment and employee benefits law. She has handled cases related to insurance coverage, premises liability and construction disputes as well as toxic tort defense.
    Cherie K. Macdonald is listed for her work in bankruptcy and workouts, commercial litigation and creditor’s rights matters. Macdonald counsels financial institutions, landlords, franchisors, receivers, contractors and suppliers in exercising their rights and remedies. 
    William A. Schmitt is ranked in areas including commercial litigation and employment law.  His practice focuses on commercial and complex tort litigation, as well as employment and labor law. He has handled litigation for several large coal companies.
    Donald K. Schoemaker is noted for his medical malpractice defense and other litigation success. He defends against claims including medical malpractice, product liability and employment discrimination.
    Kurt S. Schroeder is noted for his experience in land use and real estate issues. In addition, he is a board member for Belleville High School District 201 and Memorial Hospital East.
    Russell K. Scott is ranked in areas including appellate, medical malpractice and product liability defense. He has extensive experience handling class action and other commercial litigation and is a certified mediator. Scott has held leadership roles in organizations including the Belleville Board of Fire and Police Commissioners and numerous bar associations.  
    L. Kevin Vick is recognized for his work in real estate and business law, handling a full range of real estate development, business operations and financing matters. Vick is also a member of the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
