Olin Brass, an Energy Star partner for the last four years, received the distinction for formulating an energy management program with the EPA’s Energy Star resources.

The award is the highest honor bestowed by EPA, which was presented April 26 at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

“Olin Brass is honored to receive the Energy Star Partner of the Year award, a testament to our continued efforts to reduce our environmental footprint and increase our energy efficiency. In 2016 alone, we achieved a six percent reduction in energy intensity resulting in savings of $1 million for our business. Our team utilized a wide spectrum of technologies to execute on Energy Star guidelines this year, and this award highlights the culture of team-work and energy that permeates through Olin Brass,” said Dale Taylor, president of Olin Brass.

CEO John Wasz said the company plans to continue to respect the environment by using fewer resources.

“Over the coming years, we will take what we have learned from Olin Brass and apply the Energy Star Energy management guidelines throughout GBC to reach our goal of reducing energy intensity,” he said.
