Midwest Cyber Center creates first cyber apprenticeship program in region

midwestcyberpicThe Midwest Cyber Center, based in Southwestern Illinois, has partnered with St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment to introduce the first Cybersecurity Analyst Registered Apprenticeship program to the St. Louis region.

The goal of the new apprenticeship program is to provide another educational path for career seekers to enter the cybersecurity field. This paid, 18-month apprenticeship program combines on-the-job learning as well as online coursework. Candidates will have the opportunity to complete a CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Network+ certification by the end of the program.

The St. Louis Agency, or SLATE, is now taking applications and the apprenticeship program will officially start July 1.
