ALTON — Senior Services Plus’ School House Grill café has welcomed Chef Brad Hartman as the new culinary director.
Hartman has more than 35 years of experience in the food industry. He is a 1985 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Most recently, he is experimenting with the latest food trends, concentrating on vegan and vegetarian cuisine and farm-totable options.
His eclectic culinary background is augmented by time spent in Europe and the Middle East. In the U.S., Hartman has worked, among other places, as a chef in Vail, Colo.; coastal New Jersey; Scottsdale, Ariz., and New York City where he apprenticed at “An American Place.”
For more than eight years he was a chef/instructor at St Louis’ L’Ecole Culinaire teaching the next generation of chefs their trade. The School House Grill is open 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday-Friday and offers delicious and affordable meal options. All proceeds also benefit the area Meals on Wheels program. Dine in, carry-out and catering services are available. For more information visit http://bit.ly/1P8trr0.
