St. Louis-based independent wealth management firm, Archford Capital Strategies, recently launched “Archford Angels,” a philanthropic initiative challenging the firm’s team members to make the biggest impact possible within a local charity of their choice.
“The idea for Archford Angels began in August of 2016, as we looked to address one of our firm’s core values, which we have termed ‘shared success,’” said Archford CEO & Founder, Jim Maher. “The concept is simple and straightforward: to empower each employee in our organization to go out into the community with $1,000 to engage with their chosen charity, and with the objectives of developing a sustainable project, creating tangible impact, and growing personally from the experience.”
The organizations have been chosen and the checks have all been distributed. The challenge will continue throughout the year, culminating with an evaluation by the Archford advisory board to determine the winners. In late Fall, three additional grants in the amounts of $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500 will be made towards the best projects.
“We have already grown personally from this project and are excited for this opportunity to get involved and make a difference” says Jim Maher, founder and president of Archford Capital. “This is so different than just making a donation or participating in an event, we have the opportunity to align with a charity, get involved and see a project develop that will make a difference to the charity and to our community.”
Videos of each team member sharing their charity and mission have been posted on the Archford website and weekly updates will be posted on the firm’s LinkedIn page.
