EAST ST. LOUIS — A Springfield woman has been charged with robbing banks in Edwardsville and Glen Carbon earlier this year.
Adrianna C. Frye-Williamson, 20, was charged in a criminal complaint on Saturday with two counts of bank robbery. She was ordered detained without bond until a hearing on Feb. 16.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the offenses charged in the complaint allege that:
– On Jan. 20, she robbed the National Bank in Edwardsville, and
– On Feb. 9, she robbed the U.S. Bank in Glen Carbon
If convicted, she faces a term in prison of up to 20 years on each count, a fine up to $250,000 and a term of supervised release of up to five years.
The cases were investigated by the Edwardsville Police Department, Glen Carbon Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Springfield Illinois Police. The case is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Ali Summers.
