Unity Yoga & Wellness holds ribbon cutting

unityyogaO’FALLON, Ill. — The O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony this month for Unity Yoga & Wellness, 129 W. First St.

Unity Yoga and Wellness is owned by Timi McMillin, an O’Fallon native who has been practicing yoga since 1997 and teaching since 2000. She is a 500-hour Registered Certified Teacher and a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider.

McMillin said: “My vision for the studio was to bring together like-minded individuals to provide and share with our community a premiere yoga studio that imparts a safe and nurturing environment for all individuals regardless of size shape age or limitations to explore the practice and healing benefits of yoga and holistic wellness of mind, body and spirit.”

Unity has three yoga studio rooms, one dedicated to “Wall” Yoga, where a wall is used in practice; a heated studio, offering “green,” or infrared heat, without additional humidity; and a meditation room, a quieter room with soft lighting and fire place ambiance.

Specialty classes include Wall Yoga, Buti Yoga, Back Care Classes, Full Figured and Fabulous, and Hot Box DeTox, for a slightly hotter class using infrared and body heat. There are also prenatal, children’s, junior high and high school yoga. Unity offers several wellness classes and chair yoga for those with limitations.

All teachers are certified yoga teachers.
