NORTHFIELD, Ill. – Medline, a global manufacturer and distributor of medical supplies and clinical solutions, announced that it has acquired PFS, a privately held, family owned company based in Mount Vernon, Ill., that specializes in medical billing.
The companies called the agreement a natural progression of a longtime partnership between the two that enables Medline to expand its capabilities to accommodate exponential growth in the managed care market.
“In many ways, the longstanding relationship between Medline and PFS will allow two strong partners to work even more closely together,” says Mike Lee, president of the homecare sales division at Medline. “Combining the two companies allows us to work with the same technology platforms, exchange information more effectively, and ultimately lead to a better experience for our customers.“
The agreement will make the customer experience more consumer-oriented and bring greater efficiencies to the revenue cycle management process, he added.
“This agreement further strengthens our employees’ ability to provide excellent customer service and high quality technology platforms,” says Melissa R. Harris, PFS president and chief executive officer. “As two family owned businesses, we share the same values of integrity, reliability, excellence and quality – making this newly combined entity unbeatable.”
