Adult day care ‘Joe’s Place’ holds O’Fallon ribbon cutting

joesplaceO’FALLON—The O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce helped cut the ribbon in mid-December on Joe’s Place Adult Day Care, 1032 Hartman Lane, O’Fallon.

“Joe’s Place is the type of business we need in this area. It will offer respite for care givers and attention to those who really need it,” said Chamber Executive Director Debbie Arell-Martinez.

Joe’s Place is owned by Janis Stauder, who took care of her father for seven years when he was afflicted with Alzheimer’s. She had to quit her job to care for him and realized that not many people can do this. The seed was planted for a daycare to tend to loved ones while family members are working — a place both affordable and homey. She decided on the name Joe’s Place in honor of her dad and thought it would be more inviting to guests over a place with a facility name.

Joe’s Place is designed for anyone over the age of 18 who is unable to stay home alone during the day. Joe’s Place is a social adult day care filled with activities for adults with social, emotional, and learning challenges. Stauder said the staff works each family on individual guest needs.

The business can be reached at  (618) 303-6414 or Info@joesplaceadultdaycare.com
