BELLEVILLE — Caritas Family Solutions recently increased efforts to collaborate with the community by leasing space at its 900 Royal Heights Road facility to Beacon Ministry of Belleville.
The building, formerly a nursing home, was purchased by Caritas in 2014 with a vision to create a nonprofit collaborative center. Hoyleton Ministries was the first organization to partner in this effort when they opened their Pregnant and Parenting Teen Transitional Living Program in the building in March 2016.
Beacon Ministry of Belleville is a nonprofit resource call center that assists those experiencing a financial crisis. Through partnerships with local churches, businesses and volunteers, services are able to be provided such as life coaching, mentoring, financial assistance and resource connections. Beacon also provides the homeless with hot meals and spiritual support.
“We are pleased to join the Caritas Family Solutions nonprofit collaborative center. CEO Gary Huelsmann and his staff have been very accommodating during the moving process. Working together with other agencies under one roof will allow us to better respond to the community’s needs,” said Jim Eckert, president of the board of directors for Beacon Ministries.
Huelsmann said: “It has been our vision to partner and share resources with other organizations in the community, and it is exciting to see this vision come to life. We are thrilled to welcome Beacon Ministries to our collaborative efforts.”
Beacon Ministry of Belleville consists of churches, businesses, and volunteers joining together to help “Break the Chains of Poverty.” Through partnerships they provide resources for the homeless, and furniture to those in need.
