Keycard company PLI buys PSA, which has location in St. Louis

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Plasticard Locktech International, the world’s largest hotel keycard and gift and loyalty card manufacturer, has acquired PSA.

PSA is a closed loop card manufacturer and provider of holistic card marketing solutions headquartered in Romeoville, with a second location on Goddard Avenue in St. Louis.

The addition of the PSA workforce will increase PLI’s total nationwide from 700 to more than 1,000 employees. This acquisition doubles the PLI facilities to four and grows the production space from 300,000 to 450,000 square feet across the country.

“The acquisition of PSA marks another milestone moment in PLI’s 29-year history. It not only adds capacity, capability, and another valuable distribution point for our customers, but we are also gaining a talented and motivated team in both locations that are aligned with the Customer First Culture at PLI,” said Peter Krauss, president & CEO, PLI.

The acquisition will expand PLI’s capacity from the production of 1.1 billion cards a year to 1.6 billion cards produced from a variety of materials including a newly-launched innovative chalk product. PLI has an exclusive agreement to bring the PLI-Nu eCard to the market. The new innovative product, derived from sustainable, renewable and recyclable material, was launched last week in North Las Vegas. The new eCard marks the first time that a “truly green product” could be made available to the market at comparable pricing to traditional PVC plastic, the company said.

The largest card producer in the commercial card market, PLI is an employee-owned company with 450,000 square feet of total manufacturing space. PLI is the largest manufacturer of cards produced from a variety of materials, producing more than 1.6 billion cards per year.
