Latest round of Arch Grants recipients reflect variety of entrepreneurs
ST. LOUIS — The official unveiling of the 2016 Winter Cohort of Arch Grants recipients took place at the organization’s Fourth Annual Gala on Friday evening.
Arch Grants honored Michael Neidorff, chairman, president, and CEO of Centene Corp. with the 2016 Arch Grants Entrepreneur Award during the event. Past awardees include Rodger Riney of Scottrade, Inc., David Steward of World Wide Technology, and Maxine Clark of Build-A-Bear.
Since the launch of Arch Grants in 2012, the competition has awarded grants to 96 early-stage businesses. Recipients receive a $50,000 equity-free Arch Grant and a host of pro bono support services.
As of Sept. 30, Arch Grants recipients have retained 336 jobs in Missouri, generated $48 million in revenue, and attracted more than $100 million in investment revenue. Of the 96 companies funded, 85 are still active and 84 percent of those still active have a presence in St. Louis.
The competition has evolved to include two groups each year, summer and winter. The first group of 2016 Arch Grants recipients was announced in June in partnership with DowntownSTL.
