BELLEVILLE — HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Foundation will present Bank of O’Fallon President Richard J. Thoman with the 2016 Elizabethan Award, recognizing his commitment to the hospital and the future of health care in the region.
The event will take place on Friday, Nov. 4, at the 2016 Elizabethan Gala Fundraiser.
A lifetime resident of O’Fallon, Richard (Rick) Thoman serves as the president of the locally owned Bank of O’Fallon. For the past four years, he has served on the Board of Directors of HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and recently volunteered to serve on the HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Capital Campaign Committee. Additionally, Mr. Thoman continues to give back to the community by serving on the St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church finance council and participating in capital campaigns and fundraising activities for the church and school. Mr. Thoman is also a member of the economic development committee for the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce.
The Elizabethan’s history spans more than 30 years. Originally known as the “Elizabethan Holiday,” the traditional fall event was transformed into a gala fundraiser in 2012. Since that time, the Elizabethan Gala has become St. Elizabeth’s Foundation’s signature event, raising more than $600,000 for programs and equipment at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
This year the Elizabethan moves to a new location, the Regency Conference Center in O’Fallon, Illinois. For more information or to make reservations, call (618) 234-2120 ext. 2446.
