COLLINSVILLE — Several participants have established an alliance that offers safety training, related resources and information to roughly 10,000 skilled training workers in Southwestern Illinois.
Among those participating are the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration, TekSolv and its American Allied Safety Council, Southwestern Illinois Building Trades Council, and the Council of Owners of Construction Associates Inc.
TekSolv administers its American Allied Safety Council trainings to the Council of Owners of Construction Associates Inc. whose members then employ skilled trade workers through the Southwestern Illinois Building Trades Council.
COCA’s owner membership includes Afton Chemical, Dynegy Midwest Generation, LLC, Eastman Chemical Co., Olin Brass, Prairie State Generating, Co. LLC, SunCoke Energy-Granite City Operations, U.S. Steel-Granite City Works, and Phillips 66-WRB Refining Co. COCA holds trenching and shoring training courses and invites the construction firms that perform construction and maintenance services.
