academyforentrepreneuersO’FALLON — The O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce helped cut the ribbon recently on the Academy for Entrepreneurs, LLC, at 220 E. State St., Suite 1E, O’Fallon.

Millie Hoover has assisted small businesses for many years, beginning when she was first selected to be a small business specialist for the federal government in 1994. Although most of her 35 years were spent in various contracting positions, her most rewarding and fulfilling time was spent in helping small businesses.

To continue realizing this, she accepted a position with the University of Missouri – Extension in 2011 shortly after retiring from the government. There, she assists small-business owners in St Louis to receive federal, state and local government contracts. She also assists small businesses to become certified as a women-owned small business, veteran-owned small business, service disabled veteran owned small business, among others. Her assistance was rewarded by 23 of her clients receiving a total of $27 million worth of federal contracts this past year.

Hoover created the Academy for Entrepreneurs, LLC, in O’Fallon to help small local businesses in Illinois. The Academy will focus in assisting small businesses to receive federal, state and local contracts. This will be done through one-on-one counseling sessions, educational workshops, seminars, and entrepreneurial training programs.
These will range from “how to start a business in Illinois” to financial assistance, business plan, marketing, mentoring and business support services. Services include getting certifications to leverage a business with the government.

Seminars, workshops and more are posted on her website: www.academyforentrepreneursllc.com. Call at (618) 979-5079 or email millie.millerhoover@gmail.com for an appointment.
