Learn how to successfully start a new business in Illinois

The Illinois Metro East Small Business Development Center at SIUE, in partnership with the Greater Belleville Chamber, Southwestern Illinois College and Southwest Illinois Chapter of SCORE, will present a learning opportunity for budding entrepreneurs and future business owners.

The “Starting a Business in Illinois” workshop will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 21 in the Liberal Arts Complex Room 2311/23 at Southwestern Illinois College, 2500 Carlyle Ave., Belleville.

Attendees will learn how to:
• develop a viable business plan;
• properly register business with state and/or local agencies; and
• explore business financing options.

In addition, attendees will get the opportunity to ask questions about a specific business idea and any next steps in their startup process.

There is a $10 register fee to cover administrative cost. (The SBDC will be unable to process a payment by credit/debit card at the workshop site. Registrants should anticipate paying by check or cash at the door. Checks should be made payable to “SIUE.”)

For more information call Jo Ann Di Maggio May, SBDC interim director at (618) 650-2929.
