Corps of Engineers plans open house to discuss river projects


ALTON — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rivers Project Office is inviting the public to an open house and river pool management presentation on Thursday, Sept. 8.

Rivers Project Office staff and Joan Stemler, chief of water control operations, will discuss river issues, current projects and plans for the future. Staff from all four lock sites, natural resource management and dike and dredging staff will all be available to answer questions.

There will be two sessions:

Session 1: 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Session 2: 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The open house will be held at the National Great Rivers Museum, 2 Lock and Dam Way, East Alton.
