Ameren Illinois ranked No. 1 among Midwest large utilities for establishing business trust

COLLINSVILLE — Ameren Illinois is the top energy company in the Midwest for establishing brand trust among its business customers, according to a Cogent Reports study released by Market Strategies International, an international market research firm.

The Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement: Commercial study names the 2016 Most Trusted Business Partners and evaluates large electric utilities on their efforts to meet the unique needs of business customers. The same study ranked Ameren Illinois third nationally.

“Overall, electric utilities are doing a fantastic job building relationships with their business customers,” said Chris Oberle, senior vice president at Market Strategies. “By scoring in the top quartile of its industry, Ameren Illinois demonstrates that it is a cut above the rest when it comes to delivering superior service to businesses.”
The study measures brand trust through businesses’ ratings of their utility on six factors: reliable quality, customer focus, communications effectiveness, community support, company reputation and advocacy.
“I’m proud of the hard work our teams have put in to be a partner that Illinois businesses can count on to help them grow and succeed,” said Richard J. Mark, president of Ameren Illinois. “Each day, we’re actively engaged with businesses and looking for creative ways to help them contain costs and improve their operating efficiency. It’s great to see that our efforts are being recognized.”

The web-based survey was conducted among 9,906 commercial electric utility customers of the 59 largest U.S. utility companies (based on commercial customer counts).
