Wendy Symer, WLS Consulting, Lebanon

p09 symer    Wendy Symer comes from entrepreneurial stock. From Lebanon, Ill., her family owned a gift shop, foundry, photography business and raised, showed and sold World Champion Morgan Horses.  She claims fondly that she’s been “selling something since birth.”
With a master’s degree from SIUE, Symer started briefly in nonprofit PR, developing award-winning campaigns, lobbying on Capitol Hill, managing and training volunteers and marketing. She then opened the Southern Illinois territory for Robert Half International, a Fortune 500 staffing firm, and was recruited away by Express Employment Professionals to coach its franchisees, all while teaching adjunct at McKendree University. Six years ago she decided to offer her coaching, leadership and sales training skills to the market.
“Now I coach all industries,” Symer said, “insurance, staffing, construction trades, dental, legal, property management and nonprofits, you name it.”
Her focus is on small businesses, often couple and family-owned, where she helps build a culture of shared leadership empowering teams to increased sales and profitability.  She offers a complimentary assessment and her website features testimonials from many satisfied clients.
“I’ve seen a variety of cultures in my career.  I use that to help business owners and teams experience greater results than they dreamed possible.  I love what I do!” Symer said.
