Early Belleville architecture topic of program

Southwestern Illinois College Programs and Services for Older Persons and the Belleville Historical Society are hosting the Summer 2016 Lifelong Learning Belleville Speaker Series. This series will explore pieces of Belleville’s rich history.

Don’t miss the final part of the series “Early Belleville Architecture: The German-American Folk Houses” on Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at PSOP, 201 N. Church St., Belleville.

Belleville’s history is deeply German and much of the city’s architecture reflects that. Belleville Historical Society Historian Bob Brunkow will give an overview of Belleville’s German-based architecture, particularly German Street Houses.

The event is free to the public. For more information, contact Cheryl Brunsmann at (618) 234-4410, ext. 7023.
