Alton Memorial Hospital opens Joint Wellness Center

 

The Joint Wellness Center team at Alton Memorial Hospital outside the center, located on the ground floor of the hospital’s Olin Wing adjacent to the Human Motion Institute.

Alton Memorial Hospital’s new Joint Wellness Center is off and running, located adjacent to the AMH Human Motion Institute on the ground floor of the Olin Wing.

Patient visits take about an hour, said Cynthia Bryant, nurse navigator for the Joint Wellness Center. “The patient will see a nurse, a pharmacy professional and a physical therapist in that time.”

“We cover what to expect before, during and right after surgery,” said Sue Walker, manager of the Human Motion Institute. “We also discuss pain management, equipment management, and physical therapy throughout the continuum of your recovery from the hospital all the way through outpatient physical therapy.”

“Our hope is that we can answer all your questions before you ask them in order to prepare you for your joint journey,” said Angie Henry-Ford, manager of Surgical Services at AMH.
