The Illinois Metro East Small Business Development Center at SIUE, in partnership with Southwestern Illinois College and the Southwestern Illinois Chapter of SCORE, will present a learning opportunity for budding entrepreneurs and future business owners.
The SBDC’s “Starting a Business in Illinois” workshop will be held for the first time in Red Bud, on Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Southwestern Illinois College, 500 W. South Fourth St., Room 123.
The workshop will instruct attendees on how to
• develop a viable business plan;
• properly register business with state and/or local agencies; and
• explore business financing options.
In addition, attendees will get the opportunity to ask questions about a specific business idea and any next steps in their startup process. This course is highly recommended for anyone developing a new for-profit business concept.
There is a $10 register fee to cover administrative cost. (The SBDC will be unable to process a payment by credit/debit card at this workshop site.) Registrants should anticipate paying by check or cash at the door. Checks should be made payable to “SIUE.”
Participants can register here.
