Gordon R. Broom and Jeffrey S. Hebrank, partners at HeplerBroom LLC in Edwardsville, are the 2016 recipients of the President’s Award for the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel.
The awards were presented during the organization’s 52nd Annual Meeting, held June 24 in Chicago.
President IDC President Troy A. Bozarth, a partner in the same firm, said: “Gordon and Jeff are true giants of the defense bar. They each have contributed so much to the IDC as an organization and its mission of advocating for a free and fair civil court system. They truly deserve our gratitude for their leadership and tireless advocacy for the rule of law and civil justice system that serves us all.”
In accepting the award, Broom (left) stated, “It was really meaningful to me to have been recognized by Troy Bozarth as a person who has been an influence in his life … and who, along with Jeff Hebrank, has been a mentor to him in both his professional and IDC career. One of the joys of a career in this profession is having the opportunity to help young lawyers advance their careers. When a young lawyer succeeds as well as has Troy Bozarth, their success is reward enough. Needless to say, I am very proud of Troy. However, having said that, it is a special moment when such a person does say thank you. I appreciated the kind words and recognition. The IDC continues to be a viable and valuable representative of the trial bar. I and others like me, who have been involved in years past, continue to be pleased with IDC’s progress and the quality of its leadership.”
Hebrank (right) stated, “It is extremely rewarding to find out that your partner and president and along with the organization feel the same way about you as you feel about them. My partner, Troy Bozarth, Executive Director Sandra Wulf, and IDC have meant so much to me, my career, my profession and my firm that they ought to be getting the award and not me. IDC is the elite of the elite in the civil litigation trial defense business.”
