Public meeting for Chain of Rocks Bridge replacement study

The Illinois Department of Transportation is taking the first steps toward replacing the 50-year-old Chain of Rocks Bridge that carries traffic across the Mississippi River on Interstate 270.

The agency is doing a preliminary engineering study to look at building a new bridge. A public meeting to discuss the project is set for 4 to 7 p.m., July 13, at the Ann MacDonald Center in Florissant.
