HARTFORD – The Lewis and Clark Confluence Tower will mark the opening of its new outdoor amphitheater with a performance by the Harman Family Bluegrass Band Saturday, May 14, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at the door or in advance at the tower’s visitor’s center during regular business hours or over the phone by calling (618) 251-9101. Admission is $10 per person. The ticket price also includes a tour of the tower.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held prior to the concert to officially open the amphitheater which was developed and built over the last 12 months. The project was funded in part by a National Scenic Byway grant. The amphitheater can seat about 160 people. Local Hartford officials and state elected officials will be on hand to open the new venue.
“The addition of the amphitheater at the tower gives us more opportunities to develop great music concerts and other activities,” Deanna Barnes, special projects manager for Hartford said. “We are planning a summer of great entertainment and look forward to seeing the Tower’s attendance grow as a result.”
Refreshments will be available from Fruit Crushers featuring made from scratch fresh fruit shake ups.
The concert is sponsored in part by SMS Engineering of Alton.
