    “2016 has brought many exciting changes to the Memorial Network of healthcare centers and services. In January, we entered into a strategic affiliation with BJC HealthCare. Through this relationship, it is our intent to provide greater access to care and resources to the residents of Southwestern Illinois.
    The affiliation establishes a new nonprofit jointly owned parent organization, Memorial Regional Health Services, for which I am honored to serve as president. The organization will oversee Memorial Hospital Belleville and Memorial Hospital East, as well as outpatient facilities and the community foundation.
    On April 12, we opened Memorial Hospital East, a 94 all-private bed, full service hospital in Shiloh, Illinois. By expanding our network of services in the O’Fallon-Shiloh community, we are following through on our commitment to provide area residents high quality care and advanced technology, close to home. We like to think of ourselves as neighbors taking care of neighbors.
    Through our BJC affiliation and our growing network of hospitals, we have met the challenge presented by the ever-changing nature of healthcare. We will continue to work together to drive changes that will benefit our patients and the communities we serve.
