From Illinois Business Journal news services

The Illinois Metro East Small Business Development Center at SIUE, in partnership with The Greater Belleville Chamber, Southwestern Illinois College and Southwestern Illinois Chapter of SCORE, will present an opportunity for budding entrepreneurs and future business owners on Thursday, May 5, from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

The “Starting a Business in Illinois” workshop will be held for the first time in the Greater Belleville area at Southwestern Illinois College, 2500 Carlyle Ave., Liberal Arts Complex, Room 2311/2313

The workshop will instruct attendees on how to
• develop a viable business plan;
• properly register business with state and/or local agencies; and
• explore business financing options.

In addition, attendees will get the opportunity to ask questions about a specific business idea and any next steps in their startup process. This course is highly recommended for anyone developing a new for-profit business concept.

To register or get more details about the workshop, click on the link below. There is a $10 register fee to cover administrative cost. Please note that the SBDC will be unable to process a payment by credit/debit card at the workshop site. Registrants should anticipate paying by check or cash at the door. (Checks should be made payable to “SIUE.”)
