BELLEVILLE – HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is planning “healing artwork” at its new, state-of-the-art hospital opening in the fall of 2017.
The hospital is asking the public to submit digital photographs to contribute to the new building’s aesthetic quality. Once photos are chosen, they will be transformed into gallery wraps in order to maintain a common theme throughout the facility.
“We are looking for artwork that will bring the essence of our region into the hospital to create a healing environment and inspire the mind, body, and spirit. The ultimate goal is to share the meaningful and beautiful imagery submitted by our community with all who enter our building,” said Peg Sebastian, president and chief executive officer of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
While not all images will be chosen, a $25 premium fee will be paid to the artist(s) for each photo used.
Suggested categories include but are not limited to: wildflowers; wildlife; landscapes; domestic animals and livestock; buildings, everyday people at community events (if the subject is identifiable, include a signed photo release. A parent or guardian’s signature is needed if the subject is a minor); community activities and more.
Submission forms and more details can be found here.
The deadline for submission is Sept. 1, 2016. Call St. Elizabeth’s Marketing Department at (618) 234-2120 ext. 5491 for additional information.
