DUQUOIN – What’s old is new again at the DuQuoin State Fair. State Fair Manager Kevin Gordon has unveiled a new logo for the fair, a retro-styled logo that displays the 2016 State Fair theme: “Producing Our Future.”
“The DuQuoin State Fair is a southern Illinois tradition,” said Assistant State Fair Manager Tibretta Reiman. “This fair is something that we must protect and preserve for our families, our economy, and our future. A fresh new look and an all-encompassing theme is the first of many announcements planned for the DuQuoin State Fair.”
The 2016 DuQuoin State Fair will showcase Illinois agriculture in new, yet familiar, ways. “Agriculture has always been important to the DuQuoin State Fair,” said Raymond Poe, Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture. “This year we hope to return the DuQuoin State Fair to its roots of being an agricultural spotlight for the state’s number one industry.”
Keeping the DuQuoin State Fair safe, affordable, and family friendly is a priority of State Fair Manager Kevin Gordon. The original vision of the DuQuoin State Fair was an annual festival that would entertain the young and old alike.
“From auto races to rodeos and carnivals to concerts, this year the DuQuoin State Fair will have something for everyone,” said Gordon. “We hope everyone will come out and support this southern Illinois tradition.”
The DuQuoin State Fair runs Aug. 27 to Sept. 5.
