Kevin Wellen joins CliftonLarsonAllen’s health-care practice

ST. LOUIS — CliftonLarsonAllen, a national professional services firm with offices in Swansea and Glen Carbon, announced the addition of Kevin Wellen as a reimbursement director within its national health-care practice.
Wellen will serve a wide array of health care clients nationally out of CLA’s St. Louis office. He has more than 25 years of experience devoted to the health care industry in accounting, auditing, financial reporting, and regulatory/reimbursement consulting. Prior to joining CLA, Wellen worked for a large, Catholic not-for-profit health system, a Medicare administrator contractor, and in public accounting. He has deep industry knowledge and experience across the full continuum of reimbursement.

Wellen holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a concentration in economics from Eastern Illinois University. He is involved with the National Rural Health Association on the Government Affairs Committee and Rural Health Policy Congress and is a former board member of the Greater St. Louis Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Wellen is a frequent speaker for HFMA, NRHA, and hospital associations including speaking at HFMA’s National Institute and NRHA’s Policy Institute. He is a current member of the McMahon-Illini Chapter of the HFMA, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.
