O’Fallon overhauls water-billing program, starting this week
From Illinois Business Journal news services
O’FALLON, Ill. – Mayor Gary L. Graham says the city is upgrading its utility billing software program, beginning this week.
“This new software will offer new features that will make it more convenient for all O’Fallon water customers,” he said.
Some of the changes that will be effective immediately are the following:
– Online account access: The ability to view your bill, payment, and past consumption history online.
– Paperless: The ability to sign up for email alerts when your bill has been issued so that you can view it online and not receive paper bills anymore.
Additional changes that will be coming soon:
– Online credit card payments: The ability to go to your account online and also pay the bill right there from the same site with a credit card.
– VISA: The ability to pay with a VISA credit card.
Account and customer numbers will be changing. If you are a customer that currently pays your bills online with your own banking institution, “it is imperative” that you change your account number in your banking system for the city of O’Fallon to ensure proper posting of payments, the mayor said. The new account/customer number will be on mailed invoices beginning this week.
If you are a “bank draft” customer and have your bill directly withdrawn from your bank account, or you pay by personal check, you will not be affected at all and you do not need to make any changes, he said.
