Lane shift begins on stretch of Route 3 at I-55

From Illinois Business Journal news services

The Illinois Department of Transportation says the lanes of Illinois Route 3 will be shifted at Interstates 55/64 between the hours of 7:a.m. and 4:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday, April 6.

The shift is necessary to work on the overhead pipe bridge at that location. This work is expected to be completed by the end of April.

Traffic will be directed by the use of signs, cones and flaggers to alert the public of the changes in lane locations. Motorists are urged to be patient, reduce speed, obey all warning signs and allow extra time when traveling through the work zone.

The general contractor on this project is Haier Plumbing of Okawville. Steve Putz is the supervising field engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation.
