ST. LOUIS – Dr. Deborah Schroeder-Saulnier, founder and CEO of Excel Leadership Solutions, will share her executive leadership and global consulting expertise at the Financial Executives International-St. Louis Chapter meeting on Jan. 26.

The meeting is open to executives throughout the metropolitan area.

“The FEI-St. Louis Chapter holds monthly meetings to benefit financial executives through learning and networking presentations,” said Jim Smith, president of the St. Louis Chapter and CFO of Knight Hawk Coal in Percy, Ill. “Dr. Schroeder-Saulnier’s wealth of knowledge with senior-level leadership will provide great take-aways for our guests and members.”

With her recent book, “The Power of Paradox: Harness the Energy of Competing Ideas to Uncover Radically Innovative Solutions,” Schroeder-Saulnier brings a counter-intuitive approach to solving problems. After 25 years in senior leadership and consulting roles, Schroeder-Saulnier now partners with business leaders from a number of Fortune 500 companies worldwide, including Boeing, IPC-The Hospitalist Company and Scottrade.

“At the meeting, we will discuss the financial executive’s role in encouraging leadership growth, team alignment, strategy and employee engagement,” said Schroeder-Saulnier. “Focusing on these elements yields improvements in many finance-related business aspects, including cost savings, revenue generation, customer satisfaction and the creation of new business units.”

FEI members hold many finance-related titles within their companies, including: chief financial officer, chief accounting officer, treasurer, vice president of finance, vice president of planning and analysis, vice president of taxes, vice president of pension fund investments, vice president of risk management and director of finance. Many FEI members are also senior managers or managers of other departments, including: accounting, auditing, borrowing and investments, financial reporting, foreign exchange and investor relations.

“Our meetings give financial professionals from St. Louis and the surrounding area opportunities to network and learn from their peers as well as our experienced guest speakers,” continued Smith.

The event on Jan. 26 will be held from 7 to  9 a.m. and offer breakfast, networking and Schroeder-Saulnier’s presentation. The monthly meetings are held at the Missouri Athletic Club – West, located at 1777 Des Peres Road in Town and Country, Mo. The presentation and FEI meeting is open to existing members and guests.
