Gori Julian gets into holiday spirit with shoe campaign, food drive

From Illinois Business Journal news services

EDWARDSVILLE – Gori Julian & Associates is working on two fronts to help the needy this year with a shoe drive and a food collection effort.

The Edwardsville-based law firm partnered with All God’s Children Shall Have Shoes for its annual shoe drive by donating $5,000 to help them reach their annual goal.

All God’s Children Shall Have Shoes works with schools where children in need of new shoes are selected and bused to the Alton Square Mall. While there, volunteers measure the children’s feet, help them select a pair of shoes and socks and then help fit them before sending them on their way with new footwear for the colder temperatures.

All God’s Children Shall Have Shoes expanded this year to include 25 schools and more than 700 children, and continues to grow. For more information about the program, or to donate to the program, contact b.chapel@agcshs.org or visit https://www.facebook.com/solesforkids/.

Gori Julian & Associates is also working to make sure less-fortunate families have food this holiday season. As part of the Federation of Labor food drive, the Edwardsville-based law firm is partnering with the organization for its holiday food drive by collecting items at their office located in downtown Edwardsville.

As part of the food drive, Gori Julian & Associates will be collecting canned, non-perishable food items until Dec. 17. As an added incentive for the drive, for every canned good donated, Gori Julian & Associates will donate 10 cents to the Madison County Labor Defense Fund, which helps union families in need.

“Gori Julian is pleased to be a part of this very important food drive that has a significant impact on our area’s families during the holidays,” said Randy Gori, founding partner at Gori Julian & Associates, P.C. “We want all area families to have a safe and happy holiday and hope that others in our community will share in our spirit by donating a canned food item to the food drive.”

Donations can be dropped off at Gori Julian & Associate’s office located at 156 N. Main St. in Edwardsville.
