Memorial Network continues to grow with new hospital slated to open in April
By BLAIR GLAUBER The Memorial Network brings together Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Memorial Medical Group, Memorial Care Center, and, coming soon, Memorial Hospital East in Shiloh.
“Our goal is to provide patients with a complete network of quality care — from physicians to the latest services and technology — right here in the Metro East,” said Mark J. Turner, Memorial Hospital president and chief executive officer.
Memorial Hospital in Belleville has been a leader in the industry since 1958 and continues to invest in the Belleville community by offering the latest technologies and innovations to patients. A not-for-profit hospital, Memorial has served the Metro East under the leadership of just three CEOs. The Belleville campus, including Memorial Care Center, has reinvested more than $66 million in facility improvements and technology since 2010. In 2011, the Orthopedic and Neurosciences Center, located on the southwest corner of the campus, opened to offer patients the best of therapy services, pain management, neurosurgery, sports medicine and orthopedics under one roof.
Memorial Medical Group (MMG) is a multi-disciplinary group of physicians affiliated with Memorial Hospital. MMG is focused on meeting the needs of the community with a comprehensive group of 75 providers and 39 offices in 10 communities. MMG physicians are board certified or board eligible with many certified in multiple specialties.
Memorial Care Center is an 82-bed facility offering high-quality, skilled nursing and rehabilitative services since 1963. Located adjacent to Memorial Hospital, the Care Center offers state-of-the-art skilled services for post-operative and short-term rehabilitative care as well as skilled nursing services like wound care and intravenous therapy. The proximity to Memorial Hospital allows the Care Center to offer comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services of a modern medical center to patients.
Memorial Care Center was rated five stars for overall quality by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services based on health inspections, quality measures, and staffing. In 2015, Memorial Care Center was rated for the sixth consecutive year as one of the Best Nursing Homes by U.S. News and World Report based on overall quality of care (health inspections, staffing and quality measures).
The Memorial Network continues to expand services with Memorial Hospital East, currently under construction in Shiloh, with an anticipated opening date of April 12, 2016. The 207,000-square-foot facility will feature 94 private beds, a 24/7 Emergency Department with trained physicians and dedicated staff; a Family Care Birthing Center staffed with neonatologists, offering private rooms designed to meet the needs of moms and their families; surgical suites; convenient on-site physician offices; a Cardiac Cath Lab; Intensive Care Unit and state-of-the-art medical-surgical suites. Memorial Hospital East, a full service hospital, will meet the health-care needs of the Shiloh-O’Fallon and surrounding communities and deliver exceptional health care and compassionate service that patients and families have come to expect from The Memorial Network.
The completion of Memorial Hospital East in 2016 will also mark the beginning of renovations at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, which will transform into an all-private bed hospital. These changes will provide patients with additional privacy, a component of a caring and healing environment that has been shown to speed recovery time.
