Southern Illinois contractors, others enjoy fifth annual shooting event

The Associated General Contractors of Illinois, Southern lllinois Builders Association and Egyptian Contractors Association recently held their fifth annual shooting event at Rend Lake Shooting Complex. A total of 101 shooters participated in this seven-station event, which included skeet, trap, pistol shoot, spot shoot, flurry, five station over land, and five station over water.

Five shotguns were donated by the following firms: Mississippi Valley Equipment Co. – two shotguns; Southern Illinois and Central Illinois Laborers and Employers Cooperation Education Trust – one shotgun; E.T. Simonds Construction Co. – one shotgun; and Gould Flooring Services, Inc. – one shotgun. Three $250 gift cards to Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shop were also given away. One lucky winner received $500, which was half of the 50/50 money collected.

Keller Construction, Inc. was the first-place winner with a score of 304; Contegra Construction Co., L.L.C. was the second-place winner with a score of 292; and E.T. Simonds Construction Co. was the third-place winner with a score of 282. A tie for the best individual score with a score of 87 was awarded to John Adcock and Eric Williams.

Moran, Inc. Fire Protection, Southern Illinois Piping Contractors, Inc. and Byrne Software Technologies, Inc. Gifts were also donated by Town Hall Archery and Sports.
