    Construction management firm IMPACT Strategies is currently working on a $2.5 million renovation project of the Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation Mother and Child Center in Centreville. The multi-phased project is expected to be complete this month.
    Project Manager Will Stajduhar and his team are renovating approximately 24,000 square feet of the current facility to enable the expansion of services offered by the center. The renovation will impact five departments including pediatrics, pediatric behavioral health, adult medicine, obstetrics, and dental. Renovated spaces include exam rooms, labs, blood draw stations and nurses’ stations. The addition of a pharmacy is another component of the project.
    Architectural design firm Bates & Associates of Clayton, Mo. created the renovation plans and the interior design plan for the center.
    The IMPACT Strategies team renovated the exterior of the center by installing a new roof coating, cleaning the masonry, patching and fixing the exterior insulation and finishing system, and relandscaping the grounds.
    Six phases of construction were integrated into the schedule to accommodate the facility’s plans to remain operational while the renovations took place. IMPACT Strategies is currently working on phase five of the project.
 “Working in phases to keep the center operational has been the biggest challenge of the project,” says Stajduhar, project manager with IMPACT Strategies for over two years. “However, all the details are going according to plan due to excellent communication between our team and the center’s staff. It takes about two to three days to transition between phases and everyone has worked together to make the process seamless.”
