IDOT to hold meetings on multi-year highway improvements

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Transportation is asking the public to participate in meetings being held throughout the state to help develop the upcoming Fiscal Year 2017-2022 Multi-Year Program.

Among the meetings are:

– Oct. 8, 4 to 6 p.m.., IDOT District 8 Office, 1102 Eastport Plaza Drive, Collinsville.
– Oct. 13, 4 to 6 p.m., Breese Activity Center, 419 South Clinton St., Breese
– Oct. 14, 4 to 6 p.m., IDOT District 6 Office, 126 E. Ash St., Springfield

Participants will be able to review transit data and provide information for the development of the first Statewide Public Transportation Plan.

The Multi-Year Program is a proposed highway improvement program for statewide transportation investment, based on current estimates of local, state and federal funding. The current FY 2016-2021 Multi-Year Program reflects approximately $8.385 billion in planned highway projects.

Meeting attendees can submit written comments on the development of the proposed Multi-Year Program and IDOT’s planning procedures. Staff from IDOT will be available to answer any questions.

Written comments also will be accepted at IDOT’s district offices. Email comments can be submitted to DOT.OPPMYPOutreach@illinois.gov through Monday, Nov. 16.

The meetings will be accessible to individuals with special needs. Anyone needing special assistance should contact their IDOT district office at least five days prior to the meeting.
