Air Force band coming to Jacoby Art Center on Friday

ALTON — Jacoby Art Center’s Friday Nites Live! will play host to the Air Force Band of Mid-America Shades of Blue Jazz Combo this Friday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. The group features an area performer, Anneke Bentley. Admission is free. An ensemble of eight professional enlisted musicians, whose repertoire ranges from traditional big band jazz, to bebop and swing, to modern jazz, entertains with the classic sounds of Count Basie and Glenn Miller through to the music of contemporary composers, including some within the band. The group will play, “Fly Me To The Moon,” “All or Nothing at All,” “I Hear a Rhapsody” and other favorite tunes.
